How Our Referral Scheme Works

We aim to review and respond to applications as quickly as possible.
Please note: Applying to become an affiliate will not guarantee that you are selected.
Once we’ve approved your affiliate request, we’ll generate a unique tracking link for you.
Your unique link will direct tenants to a deposit claim questionnaire, allowing us to check whether the tenant is entitled to compensation.
As an affiliate, you promote our tenancy deposit claim service through a method that works for you.
This could be as simple as messaging a friend that may require our help or you might run a blog or YouTube channel. It’s entirely up to you how you promote Tenant Angels, as long as it is legal, not misleading and you use the tracking link we provide, you’re good to go!
When a tenant completes the questionnaire, we’ll contact them to begin the deposit check process.
This is what happens during the checks;
- We’ll confirm whether there was a legal requirement to protect the deposit.
- Next, we check each of the 3 government backed schemes to identify if the deposit was protected and within 30 days.
- We’ll also review the likelihood of a successful claim, taking into account details such as rent arrears, tenancy agreement, evidence, etc.
- At this stage, we’ll inform the tenant if they are entitled to compensation and ask them if they would like to proceed with making a tenancy deposit protection claim.
- Upon signing-up, we’ll prepare their case file and refer the tenant to our panel of solicitors who will manage the claim from start to finish on a 25% no-win, no fee basis.
- Once the tenant’s claim has settled, they will receive compensation up to 3x the value of their deposit, their deposit back in full if they haven’t already received it, minus a modest success fee. All legal fees will be recovered from the landlord.
On a monthly basis, we’ll send you a report confirming how many tenants contacted us via your affiliate link and in turn, how many tenants proceeded to make a tenancy deposit claim.
The second part is important as your commission is paid on each successful tenancy deposit claim.

Each tenancy deposit claim is subject to a cooling off period with our solicitors. 14 days after a tenant signs up, we’ll pay you £50.00 for each referral.

What Is A Tenancy Deposit Protection Claim?
- Protect a tenant’s deposit in one of the 3 government-approved tenancy deposit schemes (TDS, DPS or MyDeposits).
- Protect the deposit within 30 days of the monies being paid (often referred to as ‘late protected’).
- Keep the tenancy deposit protected for the whole duration of a tenant’s stay in the property. For example, the landlord must not remove the deposit from the scheme until the day you move out (often referred to as ‘removed from the scheme early’).
If any of the above has not be done to the letter, tenants may be entitled to compensation plus the return of their deposit in full.
